Postdoctoral Research Associate – Pharmaceutical Sciences

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (St. Jude)

A post-doctoral position is available in the laboratory of Dr. David Rogers in the Department of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

The Rogers lab is a multi-R01 funded group that uses genome-wide and molecular biological approaches to understand the molecular and genetic basis of antifungal drug resistance in pathogenic opportunistic fungi. We are currently using genetic and genomic approaches to more fully understand the molecular basis of antifungal resistance in the emerging fungal pathogen Candida auris which has been recognized by the CDC and the World Health Organization as a serious threat to human health. The lab has over 20 years of training post-doctoral scientists and graduate students who have gone on to become independent investigators. We seek an ambitious, motivated, and friendly postdoctoral scientist who has the desire to help advance our understanding of the basis of antifungal resistance and improve the lives of patients.

We seek the brightest minds in the biomedical sciences, individuals poised to contribute to our research progress. Other than access to top-quality scientists and mentors, postdoctoral trainees at St. Jude enjoy access to unparalleled shared resources and facilities led by expert scientists, experiences designed to enhance professional growth and career readiness, including grant writing workshops, individual development plans, teaching and mentoring opportunities, non-research career advancement programs, professional and development allowance. Post-doctoral trainees at St. Jude also receive an outstanding benefits and compensation package.

Education and Experience

The successful candidate should have earned/expect to earn a Ph.D. degree in a relevant field, (2) strong skills in molecular biology and genomics (3) project management and scientific writing experience, and (4) excellent communication skills and a collaborative attitude.
