Field Officer –Thiqar

World Vision – Iraq Office is looking for a highly qualified and motivated person for the position of Field Officer – Thiqar.
JOB PURPOSE:
This position supports Implementation of the Nexus Accelerator Fund (NAF) project in Ninewa and Thiqar implemented by World Vision and partners. A technical role which requires experience with climate change and social cohesion models/approaches with experience in fragile and transitioning contexts. The role requires experience planning, implementing, and monitoring project activities at 100% effort leveraging remote and physical coordination expertise to engage communities, community leaders and authorities on climate resilience and or social cohesion.
KEY RESPONSIBILITES
QUALITY IMPLEMENTATION
- Coordinate capacity building and trainings for targeted groups, partners, and communities
- Collaborate with World Vision and partner sector Lead to scale up water supply systems in climate affected communities and schools.
- Engage partners and stakeholders on implementation of project regreening initiatives as per the project design documents and models.
- Collaborate with partners and stakeholders to roll-out activities related to building livelihood opportunities or small business development initiatives for women and youth targeted for support.
- Collaborate with the World Vision and partner sector leads to roll-out modern climate-smart agriculture techniques and sustainable agricultural practices such as tunnel farming, greenhouses, and other relevant models.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to establishing a demonstration sites or knowledge dissemination Hubs for sharing best practices from models/ approaches implemented.
- Support existing/ established community structures to mobilize stakeholders especially women, men, and youth to participate in dialogues on context-specific social, environmental, climate and drought and related areas of concern.
- Collaborate with technical teams to roll out positive peace, Do No Harm, conflict sensitivity and resolution models and approaches across targeted groups and communities.
- Organize climate resilience meetings, trainings and events that promote learning on environmental practices and social cohesion bring together for internally displaced groups, host community and returnees to learn about environmental challenges as a key conflict and collaborate on sustainable solutions.
- Facilitate regular climate change and social cohesion dialogue engagements between IDPs, host community members, local government officials, tribe leaders, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Facilitate engagements between faith leaders, local peace committees in targeted implementation areas to promote use of appropriate and inclusive communication channels and social media platforms for promoting positive messages that promote social cohesion and peacebuilding. This effort will particularly benefit conflict-affected children, young people, and their families, fostering a sense of unity and solidarity within the community.
- Roll-out appropriate community engagements participant criteria, models/ approaches to conduct targeted and strategic community consultation approaches with local community organizations, including government actors, and relevant groups to identify conflict-affected children, youth, women, and Persons with disability as part of context monitoring.
MONITORING, EVALUATION AND REPORTING
- Key contributor on activity and periodic reports- semi-annual and annual
- Support the RMEAL team to roll-out project participant criteria and tools, monitoring tools (including context monitoring) and assessments such as City-Wide Assessments; Vulnerability Assessments; Conflict Sensitive Market analysis using the (CoSMAT)
- Participate in inception and roll-out of accountability to affected populations mechanisms roll-out and learning in consultation with communities.
- Collaborate with Communications Manager and RMEAL team to generate project visibility materials such as reports, success stories, videos and relevant content based on models/approaches implemented.
- Participate in the roll-out of context analysis approaches using approaches such as MSTC; GECARR or IPACS adopted for understanding the context.
- Participate in quarterly community meetings to reflect on project progress and implementation with stakeholders.
- Responsible for implementation of recommendations of findings from monitoring support visits and lessons learned events.
- Collaborate with communications team to generate stories linked to program activities, adaptations, and impact.
CORDINATION/ ADMINSTRATIVE
- Reporting with agreed office reporting timelines
- Provide coordination support for different activities and external engagement tasks where delegated.
- Handle logistical, administrative, and personal related requests related to project implementation.
- Coordinate with partners/stakeholders to implement activities in line with signed MOUs with support offices and partners.
- Support partner capacity assessments in collaboration with the partnership capacity building manager.
- Perform any other duties relating to the nature of the job.
COMPLIANCE, SAFETY AND RESILIENCE
- Achieve Do No Harm and Safeguarding Standards
- Compliance with Staff Safety Field Office SOPs
- Collaborate with Staff Safety (SSR) for security clearances for project related activities, field travels and external visitors to project sites.
- Other tasks as requested by the Line Manager and/or Response Manager
- Abide by the security policies and procedures and report any incidents or breaches to line manager and / or security manager.
Required Education, training, license, registration, and/or Certification
- Three (3) years of experience working experience in livelihood and economic development, climate change and peacebuilding and reintegration programs,
- Field experiences working with communities and liaising with government departments.
- High quality skills on engagement with partners and other NGOs staff within different positions
- Good understanding of enterprise capacity building and mentorship approaches.
- Ability to study and understand the market dynamics, identify market gaps and identify practical solutions to address them.
- Adaptability and agility skills to ensure smooth implementation for project activities
Required Professional Experience
- Higher education – bachelor’s degree,
- Proven ability to develop and communicate a common vision among diverse partners.
- Excellent organizational, analytical and report writing.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proven ability to manage stakeholders.
- Fluency in local and English languages.
