Recruitment Associate

Organizational Setting and Work Relationships
Affiliate Partnerships and Recruitment Section (APRS) takes the lead in recruitment. The Recruitment Associate is part of the Recruitment Unit of APRS and performs under direct supervision of the Associate Recruitment Officer who defines general work objectives and provides necessary advice and guidance. The incumbent keeps frequent contacts with job candidates and hiring managers to exchange information and provide advice.

All UNHCR staff members are accountable to perform their duties as reflected in their job description. They do so within their delegated authorities, in line with the regulatory framework of UNHCR which includes the UN Charter, UN Staff Regulations and Rules, UNHCR Policies and Administrative Instructions as well as relevant accountability frameworks. In addition, staff members are required to discharge their responsibilities in a manner consistent with the core, functional, cross-functional and managerial competencies and UNHCR’s core values of professionalism, integrity and respect for diversity.

Duties
– Provide first line support to job applicants, candidates, and hiring managers.
– Provide appropriate information regarding job application, hiring process, training material, policy and/or procedures.
– Understand functionality of job application process and online job application system and provide assistance to applicants.
– Utilize resume database for tracking candidates. Assist in contacting potential applicants using multiple communication tools, including social media and maintain the contact with the candidates
– Manage candidates’ pipeline, pre-screen/screen applicants, conduct suitability/grading and enrol/organize testing. Maintain processing dispositions updated in MSRP and/or in spreadsheets.
– Liaise with outreach team to provide inputs to adjust the in-outreach based on the needs and the trend.
– Provide inputs to the screening company.
– Communicates with managers and recruiters regarding candidate flow.
– Assist with any step of the recruitment process, liaising with PAPS and/or Assignment Section, ensure that on boarding requirements are met.
– Assist in the submission of third-party labour resource requests.
– Assist in obtaining required reference checks.
– Coordinate and participate in job fair events by registering, preparing recruitment materials, ordering supplies and maintaining database.
– Assist with projects, programs, and tasks that require data gathering, reviews data, and presents findings,
– Maintain highest level of confidentiality regarding matters of posting, short listing and selection processes.
– Release screened-in candidates for the review by the managers.
– Validate list of screened-in candidates provided by the screening company.
– Represent UNHCR in recruitment activities.

– Support the identification and management of risks and seek to seize opportunities impacting objectives in the area of responsibility. Ensure decision making in risk based in the functional area of work. Raise risks, issues and concerns to a supervisor or to relevant functional colleague(s).

Key Responsibilities:

The Recruitment Associate is part of the STU and performs under direct supervision of the Associate Recruitment Officer who defines general work objectives and provides necessary advice and guidance. The incumbent keeps frequent contacts with job candidates and hiring managers to exchange information and provide advice. They assist with candidate screening, onboarding, and pipeline management. They provide administrative support to recruitment campaigns and ensure accurate data tracking. They collaborate on recruitment efforts, focusing on efficient candidate assessments and process improvements. They support the management of temporary assignment workflows.

The actual functions entail:

Requisition Review: Receives and reviews Temporary Assignment (TA) Job Requisitions in line with standards.

Vacancy Management: Advertises Short-Term Assignment vacancies and screens candidates for eligibility and suitability.

Talent Pool Management: Manages Evergreen talent pools and processes external Temporary Appointments when no internal candidates are available.

Desired Candidate Profile:

The selected candidate should have solid understanding of the end to end recruitment process, and in particular the flow in/outside Workday. Additional UN language skills are desirable- given the global type of interaction.

Additional information:
Candidates must be legally present in Hungary at the time of application, recruitment and hire.

For G6 – 3 years relevant experience with High School Diploma; or 2 years relevant work experience with Bachelor or equivalent or higher.

NOTE: A completed and relevant minimum first level university degree (equivalent to BA or higher) shall count in full (100%) towards the required years of work experience. Priority will be given to eligible applicants meeting the full requirements.

Remuneration:
In case of appointment, a competitive compensation and benefits package is offered.

G6 – Salary range: NET 806,457 HUF – NET 944,644 HUF.

Benefits:

Annual leave: UNHCR staff members holding a fixed-term appointment will accrue annual leave at the rate of 2.5 working days for each full calendar months of service (i.e. 30 working days per year).

Pension system: Staff members holding a fixed-term appointment will become participants in the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund (UNJSPF).

Health insurance plan: locally recruited staff members in Budapest will be enrolled in the Medical Insurance Plan (MIP). The coverage is also optionally available for eligible family members.
