We are seeking a highly motivated individual for a cross-disciplinary post-doctoral position in the laboratories of Thad Stappenbeck, MD/PhD and Christine O’Connor, PhD at the Cleveland Clinic. Enthusiastic candidates with a strong background in molecular/cellular biology, biochemistry, immunology, and/or related field are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will lead a cross-disciplinary project aimed at elucidating a novel mechanism of inflammatory bowel disease. .
Project approaches include (expertise in all of these is not required):
- validated culture systems.
- a combination of in vitro and in silico techniques.
- informatics/AI modeling approaches.
- identifying new therapeutic targets for chronic disease.
Key responsibilities include:
- planning, organizing, performing, and monitoring daily activities related to the project protocols and goals.
- preparing, collecting, and maintaining required research project documentation and data.
- leading, assisting, and contributing to the preparation of internal and external presentations, reports, and manuscript publications.
- participating and presenting in lab meetings, as well as departmental and institute seminars.
Ideal candidates have:
- a PhD and/or MD in molecular biology, cell biology, microbiology or related field.
- extensive experience in tissue culture and molecular/cellular biology techniques (e.g. RNA/DNA manipulation, cloning, protein analyses).
- demonstrated ability to be highly motivated and organized, detail-oriented, a critical thinker, and able to work independently as well as in teams.
- exceptional communication skills (both oral and written).
